Huge game by McLean boosts Niagara Falls over St. Catharines, 5-2

The Niagara Falls Canucks' Cam McLean had a big offensive game, scoring two goals and contributing two assists in his team's 5-2 win over the St. Catharines Falcons.

McLean found the back of the net 19:39 into the first period to make the score 2-0 Niagara Falls and again while on the power play 17:55 into the third to make the score 5-2 Niagara Falls.

Niagara Falls took advantage of St. Catharines' penalties and slotted in two goals on the power play.

Niagara Falls additionally got points from Ben O Quinn, who also racked up one goal and two assists. Garrett Gallardi also scored for Niagara Falls. Other players who recorded assists for Niagara Falls were Brad Kri, who had two and Peter Hermenegildo, Clint MacKenzie, Ryan Wiley, and Rob De Jaray, who contributed one each.

The Falcons' offense operated below they season average. St. Catharines puts an average of five pucks into the net per game. The Falcons' defense let in more goals than it usually has this year. St. Catharines averages two goals allowed per game.

The Falcons were led by Dan MacEachern, who tallied one goal and one assist. MacEachern scored on the power play 12:30 into the second period to make the score 3-2 Niagara Falls. St. Catharines had taken the advantage when the Canucks' McLean got sent off for tripping. Curtis Longland assisted on the tally. St. Catharines got a goal from Aaron Taylor as well. More assists for St. Catharines came via Broderick Kelly and Andy Sturtz, who each chipped in one.

Cody Vinnai recorded 28 saves for Niagara Falls. The Canucks ended with 28 minutes in penalty time with four minors and two majors. For Niagara Falls, Jamie Cardamone and Grant McLean were ejected from the contest. Michael Gallardi took the loss and made 11 saves before being replaced by Josh Rosettani APM who made 14 saves. The Falcons totaled 18 minutes in penalty time with four minors and two majors and went 1-for-3 on the power play. Team's Koddi Quick and Jesse Miller were slapped with misconducts and ejected from the game.
