St. Marys outlasts Chatham, 5-3

The game between the St. Marys Lincolns and the Chatham Maroons was tight through all 60 minutes, but in the end St. Marys emerged with a 5-3 win.

Each team kept the other at bay throughout the game, and Sean Consitt secured the win for the Lincolns with a goal in the third period.

Consitt was all over the ice for St. Marys, as he tallied two goals in the win.

The Lincolns forced Chatham goalie Hunter Johnson to work between the pipes, taking 35 shots.

St. Marys also got points from David Sproat, who also registered one goal and one assist. St. Marys got a goal from Tyler Bryson as well. More assists for St. Marys came via Calvin Penney, who had two and Kurtis Lavis, Reid Oliver, and Brady Wiffen, who each chipped in one.

St. Marys was unable to stop the Maroons from sending pucks towards the net, and Chatham eventually piled up 31 shots on goal.

The Maroons were helped by Sean Myers, who had one goal and one assist. Myers scored 35 seconds into the third period to make the score 3-2 Chatham. Blake Blondeel provided the assist. Chatham additionally got points from Ian Jacobs, who also grabbed one goal and one assist and Thomas Eady, who also finished with one goal and one assist. Other players who recorded assists for Chatham were Steven Szekesy, who had one.

Craig Wood made 28 saves for the Lincolns on 31 shots. St. Marys incurred eight minutes in penalty time with four minors. Johnson turned away 30 pucks between the pipes for Chatham. The Maroons incurred 12 minutes in penalty time with six minors.
