Swift's hat trick boosts Brantford over Listowel, 8-3

The Listowel Cyclones could not stop the Brantford Golden Eagles' Jeff Swift, who tallied a hat trick in an 8-3 win.

Swift's first goal came 5:14 into the first period. He then added goals at 16:46 into the second and at 4:12 into the third.

Listowel's power play was ineffective against Brantford's penalty kill, which allowed zero goals while shorthanded.

The Golden Eagles stifled the Cyclones' power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Brantford kept Listowel's goalie busy throughout the game, and Michael Pesendorfer made 31 saves on 39 shots. The Golden Eagles' goal total was higher than their season average. This season, Brantford averages four goals per contest. Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals. The Golden Eagles could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 34 minutes in penalties during the game.
