LaSalle survives Lambton Shores comeback, wins 4-3Vollmer Recreation Complex Wed, Feb 15, 2012 Story by Narrative Science.
The LaSalle Vipers survived a determined comeback attempt by the Lambton Shores Predators on the way to a 4-3 win. LaSalle made the score 4-2 on a goal by Dylan Denomme at 13:02 in the third period, and Lambton Shores got as close as 4-3 when Corey Pawley scored 13:02 into the third period. The Vipers pulled out the victory even though they were hit with 32 penalty minutes. LaSalle excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in eight chances. The Vipers kept the Predators' goalie busy throughout the game, and Justin Tugwell made 44 saves on 48 shots. LaSalle was led by Ryan Speers, who registered two goals. Speers scored the first of his two goals at 5:42 into the third period to make the score 2-2. Scott Prier provided the assist. Speers' next tally made the score 3-2 LaSalle with 8:34 left in the third period. Eric Noel assisted on the tally. LaSalle got a goal from Kyle Quick as well. In addition, LaSalle received assists from Jonathan Woelk, Daniel Slipchuk, and Matt Beaudoin, who contributed one each. Lambton Shores could not stay out of the penalty box, as the team accrued 26 minutes in penalties during the game. The leading offender was Kody Ryan, who totaled 14 minutes in penalty time with two minors and one misconduct. Tanner Ferguson also scored for Lambton Shores. More assists for Lambton Shores came via Jake Carter, who had one and Brett Thompson and Adam Arseneault, who contributed two each. The Vipers' Jordan Dekort stopped 17 shots out of the 20 that he faced. LaSalle registered one goal on eight power play opportunities.
