The New York Islanders 2009 training camp will be held in Saskatoon Saskatchewan at the Credit Union Centre from September 12th to 20th  WBM Office Systems has been selected “First Star” in presenting a full week of activities highlighted by be two NHL pre-season games featuring the Islanders vs. the Calgary Flames on September 19 followed by the Islanders taking on the Edmonton Oilers on September 20. 

In addition to the NHL activities, WBM Office Systems in association with The New York Islanders training camp and Saskatoon Minor Hockey Association are pleased to announce “The Saskatchewan Cup” featuring AAA minor hockey players from across Canada. In the inaugural year the “The Saskatchewan Cup” will focus on players born in 1996.  This 6 team round robin tournament will include teams such as the Toronto Young Nationals and Vaughan Kings 2008/09 Champions of the GTHL, Alliance Champions the Sun County Panthers from Windsor Ontario, in addition to Western teams including Saskatoon and Regina.  Saskatoon will be represented by a local “all-star team” known as the Saskatoon Islanders. 

Kelly Boes Executive Director Saskatoon Minor Hockey Association welcomed the opportunity to host The Saskatchewan Cup, “This will be a special opportunity for some of our local players to compete against some of the finest players in their age group from eastern Canada.  As important as the opportunity on the ice, this event will be an excellent event for the City of Saskatoon.
