KLEMPNER CALLS IT A CAREER

The Regina Thunder Football Club would like to announce the retirement of long time Head Coach, Erwin Klempner.

Coach Klempner has just completed his 7th season as the Regina Thunder Head Coach. With over 35 years of coaching experience, Klempner is well known throughout the coaching community, especially for his tenures with the Regina Thunder, U of R Rams and Balfour Collegiate.

"We had a great year with a very young and talented team. The future of this team is bright and our organization is very stable," says Klempner. "It’s now time for me to devote my time to my family."

Moving forward, Coach Klempner will transition into a new role with the Board of Directors next season. His first duties will be to assist the selection committee as they begin their search for his successor.

"Erwin has played a significant role in the development of our organization. He has helped us build a foundation that we are very proud of," says Brin Werrett, President of the Regina Thunder Football Club. "As we begin our search for a new Head Coach, our priority is to stay the path and continue our climb."

The Regina Thunder concluded their season on Sunday after a loss to the Saskatoon Hilltops in the Prairie Football Conference (PFC) Finals. Their season was highlighted by a surprising upset win over the undefeated Calgary Colts in the PFC Semi Finals.
