RIFLES SEEK NEW HEAD COACH

Date:  Source: Prairie Football Conference

The Winnipeg Rifles announced today that Greg Graceffo will not be returning for a fourth season as Head Coach.

Graceffo, the Rifles' third Head Coach in the club's eleven seasons has fulfilled his three-year commitment made to the club when he stepped down from the Board in 2009 and accepted the position of Head Coach.

With Graceffo at the helm in 2011, the Rifles set several offensive records and had several players named as All-Canadians with Quarterback Ryan Marsch being named as the CJFL’s Most Outstanding Offensive Player. Following that run, a large number of Rifles left the club prematurely and have joined the Bisons, filling a mix of starters but primarily depth position players for the resurgent Bisons. Rifles President, Todd Wilson notes that “Greg did an admirable job starting over and once again developing a largely rookie laden team this season”. The Rifles are confident that the game experience provided to this season’s young squad will provide for a much improved team in 2013.
