Second-seeded West Frederick stunned previously unbeaten top seed Linganore to take top honors in the Mid-Maryland varsity "AA" tournament in 2025-26.

The Cadets finished 13-3 during regular season play. They got stronger as the season progressed, winning six of their last seven.

The regular season Antietam co-champions, at 11-1, rolled past Walkersville 55-14 in the tourney quarterfinals before winning the semifinals and championship games by a combined total of seven points - 36-33 over the Hawks and 46-42 against the Lancers.

West Frederick avenged a 37-34 loss to Linganore in the title game.
