NEWPORT, R.I. – The Newport Gulls head into the All-Star break at 21-14 after a challenging week, dropping three of four games and now trailing the Bristol Blues by 2.5 games in the Southern Division standings.

The week kicks off with the 2025 NECBL All-Star Game on Monday, July 21, at Maxfield Sports Complex in White River Junction, Vermont. The Home Run Derby begins at 2:40 p.m., with first pitch set for 5:10 p.m. on ESPN+.

Following the break, Newport will play two cross-division matchups. The Gulls open on the road Tuesday, July 22, in Montpelier, Vermont, facing the Vermont Mountaineers at 6:30 p.m.

Newport returns home to Cardines Field on Wednesday, July 23, to take on the Sanford Mainers. Wednesday is People’s Credit Union FANatic About Reading Night, with the first 500 fans receiving free foam fingers at the gates.

After an off day on Thursday, the Gulls host the Martha’s Vineyard Sharks on Friday, July 25. Friday is Jake Cathers Night at Cardines Field, as Newport partners with Newport This Week to support Cathers—a Middletown resident diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in February. Fans can donate to his family’s GoFundMe here. The first 250 fans will receive free posters courtesy of Regine Painting.

The Gulls cap the week with a key divisional matchup against the Bristol Blues at Muzzy Field on Saturday, July 26. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

All home games at Cardines Field will be streamed live on ESPN+ throughout the season.

With important games on the horizon and several community initiatives, it’s a meaningful week to follow the Newport Gulls as they continue their push toward the postseason.
