Date: Jul 12, 2025
Sanford, Fl. - The Orlando Snappers dropped their first game of a 3-game set against the Sanford River Rats 8-0 in 7 innings.
From the getco, it was all Sanford in this game.
The rats scored two runs in the bottom of the first inning to take an early 2-0 lead.
After Jackson Edelman (Rollins) held the hosts scoreless in the second and third inning, they added some more insurance to their credit by putting up a 3-spot in the fourth inning.
The Sanford offense continued to heat up by scoring their sixth run of the game in the sixth inning followed by 2 more in the seventh to claim the 8-0 mercy rule victory over the Snappers.
Julien Maire (Daytona State) and Tyler Garcia (Lake Sumter) both came in relief of Edelman who went 3.1 innings deep while allowing 5 runs on 6 hits and 2 walks and recording 1 strike out.
Orlando will look for a quick turnaround as they get set for a rematch on Saturday, July 11, with first pitch set for 7:00pm from The First Academy in Orlando, Fl.
