RED HAWKS BEGIN HOME AND HOME VERSUS DELAWARE

(The Red Hawks During the Anthem at Fred Rust Arena in 2023)

- Newark, DE

MSU returns to Fred Rust Arena to start a home and home series versus non-divisional opponent, the University of Delaware Blue Hens.  This will be Montclair's first ACHA D2 opponent of the season, effectively starting the 2024-25 ranking process.  After an improved regular season last year, the Red Hawks hosted the SECHL Playoffs and upset Clarkson University in the first round, but eventually fell in the semifinal to eventual champion, ARMY.

Delaware will be a tough test, as the Red Hawks are 0-7 lifetime versus the Blue Hens who ice an ACHA D1, D2 and an AAU hockey program.  But MSU is on the rise with several strong additions strengthening the defense, adding more scoring and bolstering the already solid presence between the pipes.  Last week's game versus William Paterson was a chance for the coaches to get a look at the entire roster versus a team in the highest level of ACHA hockey.  This weekend will be a more fine tuned look at this Red Hawks team against a traditionally excellent program at MSU's own D2 level.  Tonight's game can be streamed on Delaware Hockey's YouTube channel, "the412".  Saturday's game will be at MSU Ice Arena at 8:10 pm and streamed on MSU's YouTube page "Montclair State University Men's Hockey".  Let's go Red Hawks!
