Middle Country and East End met for the fifth and final time this year with Middle Country coming away with the 3-2 overtime win in the Tier 1 Varsity final. Both teams played a fantastic game that saw several stellar saves from goalies Dom Feiler (East End) and Anthony Gomez (Middle Country), amazing puck movement, and stellar defense. Both teams showed patience, grit and determination playing a classic. Ryan Colapinto opened the scoring early, but Dom Deluca tied the game soon after for East End. Josh Roland tied the game at 2-2 early in the second half, and then for nearly twenty plus minutes of game play there was nothing but end-to-end action. In the second minute of overtime Jack Semestis made the most of a Max Campo feed to find the back of the net for the clinching goal. Middle Country's Anthony Gomez took home the playoff MVP honors with a 2-0 playoff weekend making 41 saves in the two wins. The win is Middle Country's first Tier 1 Varsity title. Congrats to both teams on a great season.
