River Dragons Rally to Beat O'Fallon 7-5

Alton (IL) The Alton River Dragons overcame an early deficit and defeated the O’Fallon Hoots 7-5 before 631 spectators at Lloyd Hopkins Field on Tuesday.

R. J. La Rocco blasted a two-run homer to left in the third inning and Dominic Decker had three hits including two doubles.

On the mound, Jackson Parrill rallied after a tough start.  After falling behind 4-0, four batters into the game he was dominate.  He’d go on to retire seven in a row, finish going six innings and collecting eight strikeouts.

Lucas Johns fired a scoreless seventh and Tyson Greene earned his first save with a scoreless eighth and ninth.

O’Fallon took a 4-0 lead in the top of the first.  The River Dragons answered with two of their own in the bottom of the first.  Alton tied the score on LaRocco’s two-run home run in the third and grabbed a 5-4 lead on a Tyler Imbach double to the left field corner that plated Diego Murillo from first.

After O’Fallon tied the score thanks to an error in the fifth,  Murillo put Alton back in front in the bottom of the inning with a sac fly.

Victor Heredia added a sac fly in the sixth to make the score 7-5.

The win for the River Dragons is their first this season when trailing by four or more runs at any point.
