Alton (IL) The Danville Dans defeated the Alton River Dragons 12-4 at Lloyd Hopkins Field on Saturday.
Despite the loss, four different River Dragons had two hits in the game. Dominic Decker, Diego Murillo and Bryer Arview were joined by newcomer Evan Evola who had two knocks.
Danville raced out to a 2-0 lead and built a 3-1 lead heading to the fifth inning. The Dans then scored seven in the fifth inning to run away with a 10-1 advantage that was too steep of a hill for Alton to climb.
The Danville win gives their ninth year manager Eric Coleman career win #300. Its also Danville’s 14th victory in their last 17 games.
Alton settles for a split of the two-game home and home series with Danville, having won on the road Friday night.
