Quincy Beats Alton: Arview & Joaquin with Big Games

Date:  Source: Alton River Dragons

Alton (IL)  A furious rally fell short and the Alton River Dragons dropped an 11-7 decision to the Quincy Gems at Lloyd Hopkins Field on Tuesday night.

A pair of recent high school graduates sparked the comeback. Aiden Joaquin threw five innings of effective relief, allowing one run and striking out five.  At the plate, Bryer Arview became the first River Dragon with four hits this season.  It included a line drive home run, his first collegiate level long ball.

The River Dragons fell behind 8-1 after an inning and a half.  However, the River Dragons chipped away and eventually had the tying run up in the sixth and eighth innings.

Dominick Decker had three hits.

Brayden Caskey had two hits, while reaching base five total times.
