Alton (IL) Erik Brokemeier hit his third home run and picked up his 19th RBI of the season but it wasn;t enough to lift the Alton River Dragons who fell 7-1 to the Thrillville Thrillbillies on Thursday.
Scott Detweiler and Carson Richardson also pitched two scoreless innings to stop the Thrillbillies offense but on this night, the River Dragons weren’t able to muster much in terms of a rally.
Thrillville exploded to a 4-0 lead in the top of the second, highlighted by a three-run home run. The River Dragons responded when Broekemeier began the bottom of the inning with a moonshot over the left field fence.
Bryce Zupan then followed with a single, but that was the last hit Alton had in the game.
Thrillville added three more in the fifth to expand the lead to 7-1. Neither team scored after the fifth.
