Army was able to fend off a late-season surge by Sacred Heart who was making a bid for the #1 spot in the SECHL. Sacred Heart had an impressive second semester so far, but fell just one point in the standings shy of claiming the #1 spot. However, both teams will receive a quarterfinals bye as the remaining four teams will battle on Friday night to secure their spot in the semifinals.

Playoff matchup 1 will feature two long-time rivals as the #3 seeded Siena Saints will take on the #6 seeded Marist Red Foxes. Siena has defeated Marist in all three games played this season, however, Marist will hold a slight advantage as they are the host for the 2023 SECHL Playoffs and will be playing the game on their home ice as the lower seed. If the Saints defeat Marist, they will face Sacred Heart in the semifinals on Saturday evening. If the Red Foxes can capitalize on their home ice, they will face Army in the early game on Saturday afternoon.

The second matchup will feature the #4-seeded Clarkson Golden Knights against the #5 Montclair State Red Hawks. The season series went to Clarkson earlier this year in a two-game set in Potsdam, NY. Clarkson has shown an ability to put up some impressive numbers and has held a top 3 spot in the league up until their split in the final weekend with Siena. Montclair State has struggled to find the back of the net all season and will need to rely on team defense and goaltending to carry them through the weekend. If Clarkson takes the game they will face Army contingent on the Siena/Marist outcome. If Marist pulls off the upset and Clarkson wins, the Knights will play Sacred Heart. The same will go for Montclair State, if they win, they will face Army unless there are two upsets in the quarterfinals.

4:15 PM - #1 Army Vs. Lowest Remaining Seed

9:15 PM - #2 Sacred Heart Vs. Highest Remaining Seed

Sunday 2/12/23

11:30 AM - Semi-Winner 1 Vs. Semi-Winner 2
