Cimoroni Wins Gold with Team Canada!
Date: Jan 14, 2025
For the second year in a row, a Jr. Hurricane has won gold with Team Canada at the IIHF U18 Women's World Championship. Just last summer former Jr. Hurricanes captain Rhea Hicks was celebrating with her teammates after a commanding win over the USA. This time, Charlotte Pieckenhagen raises the cup as Team Canada beat host country Sweden in the final game of the tournament 10-0.
Pieckenhagen scored her first international goal in gold medal game helping Canada to their victory. It was a dominant performance for Team Canada going undefeated and winning back to back world championships! Pieckenhagen gets little rest and she, along with teammate Kahlan Lamarche, will head to PEI to represent Team Ontario at the Canada Winter Games in February.
The team is incredibly proud of Charlotte and her tremendous accomplishment. The Jr. Hurricanes are also happy to welcome her back to regular season action this weekend against the Cambridge Rivulettes.
