Jr. Hurricanes Open the Season with a Pair of Wins!

Regular season kicked off for the Jr. Hurricanes this past weekend. On Saturday, they hosted Central York for their home opener. Pieckenhagen opened the scoring at the end of the first period with a breakaway goal. Mazi followed up with a powerplay goal in the second period. The Hurricanes took hold of the game in the third with a goalie from Cimoroni and a pair of goals from Pieckenhagen to earn her the hattrick. Kalia Pharand faced 26 shots. 

On Sunday, the Jr. Hurricanes headed up the 401 to take on Waterloo. Cimoroni opened the scoring early in the first period after being awarded a penalty shot. Richarson added another goal in the second period after banging home her own rebounds. In the dying seconds of the second period Nelson deflected a point shot from Falardeau sealing the game 3-1. Taylor Belchetz faced 22 shots.
