After an exciting start to the month coming third in the USA-CAN Cup, the Jr. Hurricanes returned to OWHL regular season play. 

Last weekend, the Jr. Hurricanes had a dominating win over OHA Juniors (10-1) on Saturday and managed a 2-1 win against KW-Rangers on Sunday. To finish out 2022 the Jr. Hurricanes had to take on two of the top teams from the East division. 

This past Saturday, Mississauga hosted the Etobicoke Jr. Dolphins. After facing each other 6 times last season, it was poised to be an exciting matchup. The Jr. Hurricanes got into early penalty trouble and Etobicoke capitalized with a powerplay goal. Goals from Scarlett Nowakowski and Maxine Cimoroni (former Etobicoke Dolphins) would give the Hurricanes a late lead in first period. The Jr. Hurricanes dominated the remainder of the game scoring 5 additional goals for a final score of 7-1. Catherine Hodgins would turn away 27/28 shots in the game.

The Jr. Hurricanes had a quick turn around hosting the Central York Panthers on Sunday morning. After a scoreless first period, the Jr. Hurricanes would get on the board first with a goal from Ashley Delahey. Kahlan Lamarche would add a second goal a minute later giving Mississauga a 2-0 lead. That wouldn't last long as Central York answered back only minutes later with their first of the game. After back and forth action, the 2nd period ended 4-3 in Mississauga's favour. Central York would make a late push in the third period but Emma Fulawka would pot an empty net goal ensuring a Jr. Hurricanes victory and securing the December sweep!

The Jr. Hurricanes end 2022 in first place in the West division and will be back to game action January 7th when they will host the Bluewater Jr. Hawks.
