Cimoroni Wins Gold with Team Canada!

The Jr. Hurricanes kicked off the tournament by taking on the Central York Panthers. After getting down a goal in the 2nd period the Hurricanes responded with a goal from Maxine Cimoroni. With a late penalty called against the Panthers, the Hurricanes were able to capitalize with a power play goal from Ashley Delahey with a minute left in the game and would ultimately secure the 2-1 win.
Mississauga would follow that up with two dominating wins against Shawnigan Lake (6-0) and OHA Juniors (6-0). Saturday evening, the Jr. Hurricanes would meet their match against RHA Kelowna. Mississauga would get up early with a goal by Charlotte Pieckenhagen. RHA stormed back in the third period and ultimately, the game winning goal came off of a bad angle deflection.
After only allowing 3 goals against in round robin, the Jr. Hurricanes would finish 2nd place in their pool and would advance to the "Silver" game. Mississauga took on Chicago Mission and got off to a dominating start scoring 3 early goals. Chicago would push back but ultimately, the Jr. Hurricanes would finish with a 5-3 win securing themselves third place in the tournament! This is the second year in a row the Jr. Hurricanes would medal at this tournament after winning gold last season.
The Jr. Hurricanes return to regular season next weekend against OHA Juniors (Saturday) and KW Rangers (Sunday).
