NFT stands for non-fungible token and is a type of crypto asset in the form of digital art that comes with perks for the owner. NFTs are unique and not mutually interchangeable. Each token is a one of a kind digital collectible and carries a different value, unlike crypto currency, bitcoin or traditional currency that has a set value such as a dollar bill. The token comes with an encrypted certificate of authenticity, including its own unique number much like a serial number. NFTs can take the form of GIFs, tweets, virtual trading cards, images, and more. An NFT drop could be a single token or series with multiple tokens and either auctioned online or have a set purchase price.

The Pistol Shrimp’s first drop will be only one token, making it quite valuable to be the first and only one ever for the team and league. The winning bidder of this first drop will receive incredible perks with the purchase of the token including 4 drinks during every 2022 home game, a reserved parking space at Veterans Park for all 30 home games, and an invitation to throw the first pitch at the Home Opener on June 2nd.
