After six long weeks, our USF hockey team is returning to the ice for their first game of the spring semester! We’ll be taking on our neighbors, the University of Tampa Spartans for the final round of The Battle of The Bay.

This weekend’s game is on Sunday, January 16 at 2 p.m. Instead of playing at either team’s home ice, we get the privilege of taking the ice at Amalie Arena, home of the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Due to this change, there are a few different procedures than those at the normal home games. 

As normal, there are no tickets required. However, there is a suggested $5 donation. Entrance for the Amalie game is located at Gates A and B. The arena’s bag policy must be followed, and bags will be checked by workers.  

The last two games of the fall semester were against the Spartans but the Bulls left both games unsatisfied. After falling to the Spartans 8-3 on Friday, in the first game of the weekend, the Bulls showed up that Saturday prepared to change the outcome. The boys played very well and came very close but ultimately lost by one goal, with a final score of 9-8 UT.

The Bulls have been back on the ice practicing all week and are ready to take on the Spartans for the last time this season.
