Coral Springs, FL- The Bulls headed to Florida Atlantic University’s home rink on Friday, November 19th for the first time this season and were looking to keep their win streak going for their two-game series for the weekend.
The first period started off slow with the puck being turned over in the neutral zone and both teams going back and forth between their offensive zones. About halfway through the first, USF’s #24 Zach Parker was able to slide the puck past FAU’s goalie and get the Bulls pumped up. With just under two minutes to go, the Owls were able to tie up the game.
Coming into the second period, the first half was the same as the first period as both teams were trying to make a play and make the game a one goal difference again. FAU was able to get the puck to the back of the net to make the game 2-1 with just under ten minutes to go. USF’s #18 Joseph Temoyan was called for hooking with 1:41 remaining, and with the Owls on the one-man advantage, they were able to bring the score to 3-1.
Going into the third period, the Owls took off and added two more goals to the board with USF’s #12 Trevor Woodall adding the Bulls’ final goal of the night. With the Owls pulling away from the Bulls, FAU was able to end the night 8-2. USF’s goalie #31 Matthew Richard stopped 25 of 33 shots for the night. FAU had some good plays out in front of the net, but USF just wasn’t ready for the energy the Owls brought to the ice.
