This summer, Prince George will be welcoming nearly 4,000 participants including players, coaches, and officials for the 32nd BC Summer Games. The Summer Games provide high level athletes an opportunity to showcase their talents and to compete and develop in a highly competitive atmosphere. It also offers a fun experience of being around a competitive multi-sport environment with athletes ranging from ages 10 – 18. Events include: Baseball, basketball, golf, lacrosse, swimming and volleyball just to name a few.

After the cancelation of the 2020 BC Summer Games that were meant to take place in Maple Ridge, this will be the first opportunity for athletes to compete at the Games since 2018 in Cowichan. Some of those athletes who competed in the Cowichan Summer Games are current members of the Athletics senior team, including Aiden Malish, Luke Petrie and Barrett Forehler, who played a big part in securing the bronze medal for the Thompson-Okanagan region.

Coaches for the Thompson Okanagan region will be announced soon. The baseball tryouts for the 2022 Summer Games will be open for boys 15U and will be taking place sometime in April or May. Dates and locations will be posted as soon as possible.

The opening ceremonies for the games will be taking place on Thursday July 21st with the competition beginning on Friday the 22nd. The last games of the Games will be finished by noon on the Sunday followed by the closing ceremonies.
