JOHNSTOWN, Pa.– Together with the Cambria Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Johnstown Mill Rats will join forces with neighboring sports organizations, the Johnstown Tomahawks (hockey) and Flood City Thunder (football), to host a “Teams of the Town” mixer event on Tuesday, December 7th.

Members of the front office and coaching staff from each team will be in attendance to meet with fans and sponsors while enjoying appetizers from the Stadium Pub & Grille and entertainment from local musician Dany Vavrek. A cash bar will also be available.

“The Tomahawks have a storied history in this city and the Thunder have brought an exciting product in recent years. Being the new team in town, we are grateful to them for welcoming us with open arms,” said General Manager Greg Kocinski. “Operating in three completely different seasons, we are the perfect compliments for each other. We want the residents of Johnstown to have a team they can root for year round, and prove to the community that we are united as one.”

The Tomahawks are members of the NAHL, a prestigious Junior Hockey league running from September to April. The Thunder play in the GEFA, an eight-man football league playing April to June.

The event will be held at the Stadium Pub & Grille next to Sargent’s Stadium at the Point from 5:00-6:30pm on Tuesday, December 7th. Weather permitting, a tour of the upgraded Point Stadium will be held to display the new turf, improved lights, and videoboard. Chamber members are encouraged to attend.

The Johnstown Mill Rats are a member of the Prospect League (www.prospectleague.com) playing its home games at The Point. The Prospect League is a top summer collegiate baseball league operating with 16 teams located in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Missouri, Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. More than 200 Prospect League alumni have played in the major leagues.
