The LumberKings fall 7-3 to the Cape Catfish in Cape Girardeau on Saturday night. With the loss the LumberKings season comes to an end, and the Catfish will head to the Prospect League Championship series to face the Lafayette Aviators.

The LumberKings were held to just five hits in the ball game and fell short down the stretch. The Catfish jumped out to a seven run lead after the first three frames and never looked back.

Matt Scherrman held the Catfish scoreless in his work out of the bullpen in relief,  but the damage was already done.

The LumberKings finish the season as the Prospect League’s Great River Division Playoff Champions and second half winners.
