ELKVILLE, IL - The Lafayette Aviators made it official with the announcement this week of the signing of 19-year-old, right-handed pitcher, Brendan Reid, from Frontier Community College to a contract for the 2019 season.

A 2018 Perfect Game All-American and All-Regions Team, Central Region Honorable Mention and graduate from Randall K. Cooper High School, in Union Kentucky, the 6',0", 190-pound, Reid was recently ranked by Perfect Game as the No. 16 RHP in Kentucky and the No. 43 prospect overall in the Bluegrass state.

According to Aviators popular manager, Brent McNeil, "Reid is an important piece coming out of the pen for the Frontier CC in crucial situations. He has handled his role well and has a hammer curveball that is his put-away pitch."

Scout's take, "Reid has a typical projectable pitcher's frame with room to add muscle and arm strength. He has a fastball that ranges between 84-86 mph, tops off at 88 mph at times, that puts him in the 74.56% for the class of 2018. A fastball/ 74 mph curve combo that is effective, given his ability to pitch north-south with the fastball. The curveball, which may be his best pitch and at this level, gives him two plus-pitches in his arsenal that he brings in out of the bullpen for the Aviators. Reid will likely pitch out of the back end of Lafayette's bullpen, in a late-inning setup role or even potentially an opportunity to close out some games."
