California’s Kekoa Carroll – A Human Highlight Reel
Date: Sep 2, 2012
(Youth1) – Day two of the Cecil Fielder World Series brought pool play full circle, as seeding has now been determined for Monday’s bracket rounds. At the Elite Division, it will be Rawlings Pico Elite and the Oakley Stingrays facing off in a three-game series for rights to the Elite World Series title.
Pico and Oakley are no strangers to one another having played each other four times already this season with Oakley holding the 3-1 record over their rivals. Pico will be looking to even up the score as two of their top-teir players, Tyler Wright and Jared Thomas join fellow slugger David “Bam” Corona for Monday’s championship round.
In the AA/AAA Division, the Diamond Dawgs and SCYB have the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds and were awarded a first-round bye. The Outlaws will face off against the 10U FCBA Cobras while the Pomona Titans will take on the Ruff Riderz.
The Diamond Dawgs overcame a rough opening-game loss but since then have won three straight and look to be the favorites in the AA/AAA Division. Since their opening game they have allowed just 14 runs while scoring 30 and in Monday’s bracket rounds they will face off against the winner of SCYB and the Outlaws.
Be sure to check back for the conclusion of the Cecil Fielder Elite World Series to see who was crowned champions at each age group.
