ELKVILLE, IL - the Champion City Kings have signed PG 2018 Preseason All-American, 18-year-old, outfielder Angel Jimenez, a potential MLB Draft pick with a PG grade of 8, from Santo Domingo, of the Dominican Republic, a 2018 grad from Florida Preparatory Academy in Melbourne Florida and a freshman Alabama State University, to a contract for the 2019 season.

The Perfect Game scouting report on Jimenez from a recent showcase, "Angel Gabriel Jimenez is a 2018 outfielder with a 6'0", 182 pound frame from Santo Domingo, SD who attended the Florida Air Academy. Large frame with athletic look; good strength and physicality. Ran 60 yard dash in 7.31 seconds. Sets up to hit from open stance, big leg left trigger, creates separation in hips/hands, hands work well through swing with good bat speed, gets ball into the air with authority and good jump off the barrell. Has HR power. Worked in the outfield, good athletic movements to and through the ball, fields cleanly and maintains momentum, arm works well through release, clocked up to 83 mph on throws."

Scout's take, "Jimenez the right-handed hitting and throwing outfielder could probably play in any outfield position but is probably best suited to play in the corners, with his plus power, average speed and a slightly above average arm, that might make left field his primary position.+
