The Southern Collegiate Hockey Conference (SCHC) has added a new member team; Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) in Daytona Beach, Florida.

The SCHC, in its 5th year includes six ice hockey teams from throughout Florida and nearly 200 student-athletes. Five of its six member teams continued onto post-season play with 2 of them (Florida Gulf Coast & Central Florida Universities) continuing to the National Championship Tournament in Columbus, Ohio.

Embry-Riddle has been an established team since 1998. Over the past two years the team has become more organized behind the leadership of faculty and coaches.

The SCHC Member Teams compete in Division 3 of the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA).  Conference principles include providing a safe, fair, and organized environment for inter-collegiate ice hockey, while promoting the sport throughout the Southern United States. Their high standards for on and off-ice performance are well respected throughout the nation.

SCHC Commissioner Scott Grosky is extremely excited for further growth of the Conference in coming years.
