SCHC hockey is on the move with recent new growth through the formation of the new Florida Collegiate Hockey Conference (FCHC) D3 conference. Interest in college hockey is at an all-time high. In response to this growth and to create more opportunities to earn a spot and compete in the CHF, Embry Riddle, USF, and UT student athletes can now take to the ice and play for their D3 squads. Along with a healthy schedule this season against each other, games are on the books against UF, FIT and Florida Southern D3 programs this season.
Each FCHC team has a shot at earning a berth in the CHF Federation Cup in March by first winning the FCHC conference playoffs. The FCHC conference champions will then compete in the SCHC conference championship with the D2 teams and by finishing in the top 4 and following approval of the SCHC board, it's on to Philly to compete for the National Championship!
Leadership is anchored in the FCHC by its newly named commissioner, Ken Byrnes of Embry Riddle.
