Date: Jul 8, 2019
Andrew Neu
Andrew is a 6’4 lefty pitcher/ 1st baseman from Kewaskum. Andrew is a senior and has just committed to play at Madison College. Neu played with MBA in 2016 and had a great year. Andrew was injured for most of 2017, but through lots of hard work and dedication, Andrew stuck to his process and will play with a very successful baseball program at Madison next year. Here is what Andrew has to say about playing at MBA and his thoughts on the next level.
How has MBA helped you improve as a player? The coaches at MBA were fantastic and noticed flaws in my mechanics right away and helped me improve and fix what was wrong.
What was different about MBA than different organizations? The guys at MBA are cool. Both the coaches and players. Aloso there's lots of 1 on 1 work that you don’t get at other places.
Did MBA help you with the recruiting process? For sure, all the coaches at MBA are very knowledgeable about the recruiting process that is very confusing.
What was a time that stood out at MBA? The tournament at Notre Dame was awesome. It is a beautiful field and campus and was amazing to see.
What was the deciding factor in choosing Madison? The coach and program at Madison are great and I feel like they can help me move on and continue to play baseball.
Where are you hoping to be after 2 years at Madison? I’d like to be playing at a succesful D1 program.
Have you decided a major? Not yet but I’ve been thinking about education.
What was your injury? Torn Meniscus
How did you go through recruiting with the injury? I worked really hard at rehab and with my coaches and I made sure that I was spending time with people who could help me get to where I wanted to be.
Were you considering any other schools along the way? Oshkosh was the another school I was looking at.
Will you be a PO (Pitcher Only) at Madison? I don’t know yet, I’ll for sure pitch and I’ll try to play both ways.
Is the possibility of being a PO a tough reality? Oh yea, I love every part of baseball and I don’t want to give up any of it.
