8U Mite State Tournament Announced

Michigan Amateur Hockey Association (MAHA) has announced the date and location for the upcoming 8U-Mite State Tournament.  Official registration and information can be found on the maha.org website.   All Little Caesars Amateur Hockey League teams are encouraged to attend this unique event that will be featuring three separate divisions for tournament parity (Red / White / Blue).

Rules and Eligibility:

  • Electronic Registration Due Date:  January 15, 2018 
  • Cost is $225.00 Per Team 
  • Suggest 9 – 12 players per team.  A goalie may be shared, if necessary, for teams within the same Association.
  • All players in your Mite Program may be included.  Players must participate in a half-ice league or in-house half-ice league.  All players and coaches must be USA Hockey Registered and rostered with MAHA.
  • All games will be half-ice, four on four with a goalie format.  There will be a two-minute warm-up with three nine-minute periods.  No time-outs.
  • Teams will be able to enter in one of three skill divisions. It is up to the Associations to properly assign players to teams according to their skill set. Birth year is not the overriding factor at this age level.
  • Red, White and Blue Divisions:
    • Red Division: 2009 Birth Year Advanced Skill Players and/or Very Advanced 2010 Birth Year Players
    • White Division: 2009 Birth Year Advanced Skill Players and/or Intermediate Skill 2010 Birth Year Players
    • Blue Division: Mixed 2009 and 2010 Birth Year Players of Intermediate Skill level or Newer Players to the Game.

Note: If an Association has more than one team in the Blue Division, the Association must draft teams appropriately.
