Risk Minimization Highlights Changes in High School Ice Ho...

It's not too often that Section V Hockey has players drafted into the NHL, but this year's 2017 NHL Draft has had David Farrance drafted in Round 3 with pick 92 by the Nashville Predators. David played two years for Victor High School in the 2013-14 and 2014-15 seasons. Both years Victor went deep into sectional playoffs where they lost in the finals in 2014 and in 2015 won in finals and went on to State regionals where they lost to CBA. Mike Ferreri is the head coach of Victor and recall him talking about David Farrance prior to the first season of him playing for him and how he was something very special. His skating is off the charts and has that effortless skating ability similar to Ottawa's Erik Karlsson who David Farrance would like to model his game to. He wore #9 during his play and his stats while at Section V Hockey can be found here! We are very proud of David Farrance being drafted and hope only the best as he continues to Boston University for college hockey now as a prospect for the NHL Nashville Predators!
There are still Section V Hockey or Rochester local players that could go in the 2017 NHL Draft. We will await to see if McQuaid Jesuit's Jack Dugan or Jake Tortora will be drafted by end of today!
