Owen Larson- born in 1996, from Minneapolis, MN --is a great addition to the future of ASU ACHA hockey. Owen provides a scoring touch that the Sun Devils lacked at times last season. “ Owen is not afraid to get the tough areas and gets rewarded for it” said ASU ACHA Head Coach Josh Brown. “We expect Owen to be a guy that we can rely on and can contribute to the scoresheet nightly”. Finding the scoresheet is something that Larson has done his entire career. In 2014-15 Owen led all of Minnesota High School hockey in scoring with 37 tallies in 25 games played. “My best assets as a player are my speed and my goal scoring ability. I have always been fortunate enough to have teammates that have been able to get me the puck in in great situations” said Larson.

Larson is excited about being a Sun Devil next year. “The campus is awesome. I really liked getting a chance to see it and everything that ASU has to offer. I am also looking forward to joining a hockey team that has a winning tradition and leaving the rink everyday wearing flip flops”.

Larson comes to Arizona State from the North Iowa Bulls of the NA3HL, where he tallied 63 points in 46 games. In 2015-16 Larson won a NA3HL Championship with North Iowa, recording 3 goals and 4 assists in their playoff run. He was drafted in the 2nd round 36th overall of the North American Hockey League in 2015 by the Minot Minotauros. Before playing Jr Hockey Owen played 3 years of Varsity Hockey for the Academy of Holy Angels, where he recorded 94 points in 75 games.
