Keene, NH- The Keene State College Owls Men's Hockey Club slipped one spot (from # 2 to #3) in this week's Regional Rankings released today by the ACHA. Keene State is currently ranked eighth nationally out of 167 teams. The Owls went 3-0 on the weekend, outscoring opponents 26-8. New York University has overtaken William Paterson University for the top spot, bumping WPU to #2 and KSC to #3.
"It may be hard for people to understand how we could drop in the rankings after the weekend we had but the ranking sytem uses a sophisticated algorithm that considers the strength of your opponent and your opponent's opponents, etc," was Coach Bobby Rodrigue's response when asked about the rankings. Rodrigue add that the team is not concerned about the rankings, "The boys are working hard and generating success. That's all we want. The numbers can take care of themselves. We are just gearing up for what we hope is another solid weekend."
Keene State (8-0-1 overall, 3-0 division) will host Bryant University on Friday night at 7:40pm at Keene Ice and will host 4th ranked Northeastern University on Saturday at 6:30. Tickets for KSC Hockey games are $2 for Students and $4 for Adults. Children under 12 are free. Season tickets are available for just $15.
