Owls Excel in the Classroom Again
Date: May 27, 2020
Keene, NH- The Keene State College Owls Men's Ice Hockey Club announced on Friday that the 2020 Hockey Golf Outing has been canceled. Originally scheduled for October 3rd, the Club re-scheduled the fundraising scramble to September 25th after the College scheduled 2020 Commencement and Alumni Weekend for that date; both events have since been canceled, as well.
Head Coach Bobby Rodrigue commented, "We are certainly disappointed by the College's decision to cancel all golf tournaments for the Fall semester at Keene State but we understand that they believe it is in the interest of campus & community safety and we will obviously respect that decision." Rodrigue added, "The Golf Outing has become an important fundrasier for the team and more-so a great opportunity to bring our alums, parents, friends and supportors together to celebrate the start of each new season. We are going to get creative to find other ways to accomplish both the fundraising and the friendraising."
The club thanks local sponsors and supporters of the 2020 Golf Outing- Bretwood Golf Course, Courtyard by Marriott, Bulldog Design, Lab 'n Lager and Brickhouse Pizza & Wings. Plans are being made for the 2021 Golf Outing and will be announced as they become available.
Keene State is preparing to welcome students back to campus August 24-26 for in-person learning this semester. The team is engaged in planning to be actively participating and comepting in the Fall semester and hopes to announce those details over the next two weeks.
