Kevin Donati collected three hits, sparking the Pittsfield Suns (18-29) to an 8-6 victory over the Marthas Vineyard Sharks (20-32) on Tuesday at Wahconah Park.

He singled in the first, third, and fourth innings.

Kevin Hassett brought the heat against the Marthas Vineyard Sharks during his outing. Hassett held the Marthas Vineyard Sharks hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three.

Ryan Callahan was effective even in defeat, mowing down five the Pittsfield Suns batters and allowing two runs.

Dillon Nelson got on base four times in the game for the Marthas Vineyard Sharks. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the ninth inning.

Steven Colella ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fifth loss of the year. He allowed six runs in 4 2/3 innings, walked one and struck out four.
