PORT HURON, MI - The Federal Professional Hockey League hosted the 2016-17 expansion & dispersal drafts on Friday, July 15. The Watertown Wolves and St. Clair Fighting Saints each built a twelve man roster during the expansion draft, while the dispersal draft permitted each of the league’s 6 teams to acquire free agents from the dismantled rosters of the Dayton Demolition and Brewster Bulldogs. The Port Huron Prowlers selected and acquired the rights to the following players in the dispersal draft:

Round 1: (D) Myles McCauley, Dayton
Round 2: (G) Josselin St. Pierre, Dayton
Round 3: (F) Jason "Jay" Kenney, Dayton
Round 4: (F) Chad Bennett, Dayton

Prowlers’ first round pick, Myles McCauley, is a seasoned professional hockey player who hails from Sterling Heights, MI. McCauley began his pro hockey career with the Plymouth Whalers of the OHL, having shared a line with future NHL star Tyler Seguin. McCauley also played with the Sault St. Marie Greyhounds and Peterborough Petes of the OHL. McCauley has played two seasons in the ECHL for the Greenville Road Warriors and Evansville Icemen. In 31 games with Dayton last season, he logged 13 goals and 27 assists.

In the second round, the Prowlers snagged veteran goaltender Josselin St. Pierre. St. Pierre is a recognizable FPHL goalie, having backstopped the 2014-15 Watertown Wolves to the Commissioner's Cup.  The Prowlers look forward to bringing his experience and grit to Port Huron for his 10th year of professional hockey.

Port Huron fan favorite Jay Kenney was picked up during Round 3, who netted 22 games during the Prowlers’ inaugural season. Kenney is a solid team player and the Prowlers’ look forward to his return.

In Round 4 the Prowlers selected Chad Bennett, who tallied games with both the Berlin Riverdrivers and Dayton Demolition before playing 22 games with the Columbus Cottonmouths (SPHL) to round out his season. Bennett was also a part of the 2014-15 Champion Watertown Wolves.

"Joe and myself are really thrilled on the outcome of the dispersal draft," Said Head Coach Trevor Karasiewicz "We ended up getting one of the best goaltenders in the league, one of the better defense men, and one of the top forwards. We also got Jay Kenney back who is gonna be a huge asset on the front line for us in both power and grit."
