#1 Seed Survives

Date:  Source: NABL: Arizona Winter League

#1 Seeded San Diego Surf Dawgs are the home team, taking on the #8 Seed Team Canada, this one should have been a bow out, right? Wrong. Team Canada Pitcher Matt Walker brought his A -Game and took it to the Surf Dawgs throwing records aside. Walker pitched all 7 Inning giving up 8 Runs total but most of those runs came across on errors by his defense. 5 Errors plagued the 8-5 final score as Canada took the loss from San Diego.

Opposing Pitcher Robert Boothe was no slouch himself, as he did just as well as Walker, if not better. Granted, he had a more solid defense behind him, Boothe came to play as well. Giving up only 1 Run in his fist 6 Innings of work, he gave the Dawgs the opportunity to win the game, his only short coming was the top half of the 7th where he allowed 4 Runs from Canada to make the game interesting, but nonetheless, Boothe threw a solid complete game and earned a win for his team.

The stage is set for the final day of play, there are 4 teams remaining, and only 1 will earn the title of Champions of the 2012 Arizona Winter League.
