Both Saskatchewan and Canada came strong from the hill to start this one as the first 2 Innings the score was only 1-0 in favor of Canada, and it was unearned at that. The 3rd Inning, though, was when things got bumpy for the Silver Sox. 2 Errors and 2 Hits produced 5 runs for Canada, and that would be all they needed, held scoreless in the last 4 Innings, but would only give 1 run to the Sox in the top of the 4th.
The Saskatchewan pitching staff did very well this morning, only giving up 3 hits in the game, but the errors on defense are what let them down. Joseph Cacciato showed a lot of control, only giving 3 Hits and 3 Walks (1 Intentional) while striking out 3 as well. But that combination would leak 6 Runs across the plate and the Saskatchewan Offense would not be able to come back.
Dan Maurer had himself a day on the other side of the field, holding the Sox to 1 run in a complete game 2 Hitter, the direct reason the Sox were unable to come back.
