Jangard's big game bests Kiski Area in 5-2 Westmont Hilltop win

Westmont Hilltop's Isac Jangard had a big offensive game, scoring one goal and contributing two assists in his team's 5-2 win over Kiski Area.

Jangard beat Alexander Ferraro with a shot 13:27 into the second period to make the score 3-1 Westmont Hilltop. Jangard dished an assist on Gunnar Hockenberry's goal that made the score 4-2 Westmont Hilltop at 4:07 into the third period. He added another helper on Austin Degrange's goal that made the score 5-2 Westmont Hilltop at 16:29 into the third period.

Westmont Hilltop stifled Kiski Area's power play, and did not give up a single goal while down a man. Westmont Hilltop kept Kiski Area's goalie busy throughout the game, and Ferraro made 41 saves on 46 shots. The defensemen of Westmont Hilltop were also effective in Kiski Area's zone, and came away with three goals.

Westmont Hilltop also had goals scored by Jack Spencer and Logan Webb, who scored one goal each. In addition, Westmont Hilltop received assists from Michael Lamison, who had two and Corbin Ragno and David Cavrak, who contributed one each.

Kiski Area excelled on the penalty kill, not giving up a single goal in three chances. Kiski Area's offense operated below its season average. Kiski Area puts an average of 5.5 pucks into the net per game. Westmont Hilltop's defense shut down Kiski Area's forwards for much of the game, and Kiski Area got off only 11 shots during the contest.

Kiski Area was helped by Nicholas Wallace, who racked up one goal. Wallace scored 2:09 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Kiski Area. Brandon Stephens assisted on the tally. Jonathan Hartill also scored for Kiski Area. More assists for Kiski Area came via James Ayres and Ryan Hastings, who each chipped in one.

David Cavrak made nine saves for Westmont Hilltop on 11 shots. Westmont Hilltop ended with 19 minutes in penalty time with two minors and one major. Kiski Area incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
