Early goals doom Keystone Oaks, falls to Meadville, 14-0

Keystone Oaks fell behind early, and Meadville kept piling on the points on the way to a 14-0 victory.

Nicholas Frantz had five goals and four assists to lead Meadville. Frantz got on the scoresheet 3:45 into the first period. He then added goals at 5:19 into the second, at 1:39 into the third, at 15:30 into the third, and at 16:25 into the third.

Meadville's defensive effort looked to be improved. Meadville allows 3.0 goals per game. Meadville forced Keystone Oaks goalie Alec Elinoff to work between the pipes, taking 49 shots. Meadville found the back of the net more times than it usually has this season. Meadville has scored at the pace of 5.4 goals per game during the current campaign. Meadville's defensemen played an important role in the offense, chipping in two goals.

Meadville also got points from Barrett Hoffman, who also tallied one goal and one assist, Chase Leech, who also registered three goals and three assists, and Chase Caravella, who also racked up one goal and two assists. Meadville also had goals scored by Brandon Gregg, who had two and Benjamin Meure and Luke Triola, who each put in one. More assists for Meadville came via Jacob Merriman, who had two, Alec Gizzie, who had three, and Cooper Leguard and Trevor Johnson, who contributed one each.

Keystone Oaks managed to stay out of the box better than usual, registering one minor for two minutes in penalty time. Keystone Oaks wound up below its season average of 13.0 penalty minutes per game. Keystone Oaks' offense operated below its season average. Keystone Oaks averages 3.2 goals per game. Meadville's defense shut down Keystone Oaks' forwards for much of the game, and Keystone Oaks got off only six shots during the contest.
