Brewers anxious for home opener
Date: May 8, 2013

The Maple City Brewers received a bye to the semi finals in the Essex County league playoffs and have been patiently awaiting the end of the quarter finals. With Woodslee knocking off Windsor in three games, the Brewers are set to face the Amherstburg Senior Cardinals, starting Sunday in Chatham at 1:05 pm. The other semi final pits Woodslee against the Riverside Royals.
Maple City is 3-0 this season against the Cardinals and the Cardinals have not seen ace Dave Carey in any of the three games. The last meeting between the teams saw the Brewers take a comfortable 6-2 win behind excellent pitching from Terry Oulds.
Game 2 is set for Wednesday, September 28th in Amherstburg at 7pm in the best of three series. The Brewers are fresh off of an OBA championship in which they scored 50 runs over 6 games. A playoff bracket is available.
