New sod was laid on the infield of Fergie Jenkins' Field and the heavy rainfall has pushed back usage of the field. The Brewers have been practicing for a month now in anticipation of their home opener which has been tentatively scheduled for Friday, May 24th at 7:35pm against the Courtright Cardinals.

Brewer's assistant GM Joel Smith says, "it's in the best interest of everyone that we remain off the diamond until it is absolutely 100% ready." A lot of work has been put into park upgrades during the offseason including a brand new indoor baseball facility which sits in the northwest corner of the park and is the new right field fence for the diamond.

Maple City hits the road to kick off the season on May 19th, as they visit Wyoming in a North-South division battle. The Western Counties League has been split into two divisions for the 2013 season: North and South. The Brewers play out of the South division which also encompasses Port Lambon, Dresden, Chatham Jrs, and Courtright. The North division is comprised of Corunna, Sarnia, Wyoming Srs., Wyoming Jrs, and Petrolia.
