'A Championship Preview

Date:  Source: New York City Metro Baseball League

On Aug. 23, the Bronx Titans (A) and the Gotham CIty Bats will square off for the 2015 NYCMBL 'A' Championship. Below is a quick look at Sunday's matchup.

Regular Season:

The Bats and the Titans met just twice this season, with the Titans taking both games. Although the Titans' record has not  been verified, the squad won roughly 15 games this year, often doing so with a skeleton crew. The Bats, on the other hand, won 13 games and finished a game over .500. They struggled somehwat down the stretch, but have been able to get back to their winning ways in the postseason.

Playoffs:

Both the Bats and the Titans were forced to play a weekday play-in game due to their seeding, but that extra game seems to have served the squads well. The Bats have bested, in order, the Metros, the Manhattan Braves and the Downtown Bulls to find themselves in the championship game, while the Titans took down the Nassau Yankees, Wingbar Warriors and Whitestone Nationals to do the same.

From the Manager's Mouth:

Gotham City Bats

"I would say we have raised our game tremendously in the playoffs. Our lineup is producing as a unit and our team chemistry is off the charts. This is a special team that God has put together. All the credit goes to the big guy." - Bats coach Mike Jacob
