Doef story:
The Fred Page Cup in Cornwall welcomed a special guest at last night's game. Former Smiths Falls Bear Neil Doef dropped the puck before the game. Doef was paralyzed after an on ice play while suiting up for Team Canada East last year. He has battled back hard and has exceeded recovery expectations already. It was very emotional for all at the civic complex when he wheeled himself out to drop the puck. He did many interviews and signed autographs for young fans. Doef is a great example of character and perseverance and inspired many with his journey. His mom Bobbi-Jean says "I want to thank everyone for their kindness and respect they showed Neil tonight. The support from his hockey family has been so overwhelming. We are truly blessed!"
