FHL welcomes Port Huron for 2015-16 season

Port Huron, MI - The Federal Hockey League (FHL) has announced that its Board of Governors has accepted the membership application for a team in Port Huron, Mich.
 
The team will begin play this coming season and play its home games out of the 3,373-seat McMorran Place Sports & Entertainment Center in Port Huron.

Port Huron Professional Hockey is owned and operated by Barry Soskin.

Barry has been involved as an owner of various teams in the past 25 years such as the two time champion Toledo Storm of the East Coast Hockey League, Nashville Nighthawks of the Central Hockey League, Waterloo Blackhawks of the United States Hockey League, Traverse City Enforcers of the Continental Junior Hockey League and the Pelham Prowlers of the Southeast Hockey League. Barry is married to his wife, Fran for 28 years and has three children, Heather, Brian and Rachel. Barry and his family resides in Arlington Heights, Illinois.

McMorran Place Sports & Entertainment Center is a three building complex consisting of an arena, pavilion and theatre.  It annually hosts hundreds of successful conventions, trade shows, concerts, banquets, ice shows, corporate meetings and seminars, as well as hockey for all ages.

Port Huron is the first FHL team to call Michigan home.

Port Huron will hold a name the team contest on it’s official website until April 24.
