Trevor Pode netted a hat trick to lead Motor City Monarchs over Detroit Fighting Irish, 5-4.

Pode got on the scoresheet 6:15 into the first period. He then added goals at 17:18 into the first and at 9:53 into the third.

After the loss made the series score 1-0 in the best of three series, Detroit Fighting Irish faces elimination next time out.

Motor City Monarchs' offense rang up 40 shots on Detroit Fighting Irish's net.

Motor City Monarchs also had goals scored by Anthony Wojciechowski and Joseph Gibbs, who scored one goal each. In addition, Motor City Monarchs received assists from Trevor Hillman, who had two and Alec Domin, Alex Anderson, Jarrad Vroman, and Adam Jonak, who contributed one each.

Team's forwards weren't the only contributers offensively, and the team's defensemen showcased their scoring touch with two goals.

More assists for Detroit Fighting Irish came via Shawn Mott, Richard Pinkowski, and Nolan Jakrzewski, who each chipped in one.
